Professional colour palette generator with built-in accessibility tools

Preview of the Tynte project

Accessible colour palette generator for designers and developers

Tynte is a web application that helps designers and developers create accessible colour palettes. It combines colour theory with accessibility standards, allowing users to generate harmonious palettes while ensuring WCAG compliance.

Key Features

Accessibility-first approach — Real-time WCAG contrast checking, colourblind simulation for 7 types of CVD, and comprehensive accessibility reports Intelligent colour generation — Shade scales using perceptually uniform OKLCH colour space, harmony generation, and image colour extraction Seamless exports — Output to CSS custom properties, Tailwind config, SCSS, or Figma design tokens

Technical Highlights

Built with React 18, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS Performance optimised with code splitting, Web Workers, and LRU caching State management via Zustand with localStorage persistence Smooth animations using Framer Motion

What I Learned

Building Tynte deepened my understanding of colour science (OKLCH, contrast algorithms, CVD simulation matrices) and reinforced the importance of designing for accessibility from the start—not as an afterthought.
